The DAP 3200a is now Obsolete. For higher performance at a lower cost, upgrade your system for one of the PCI-bus DAP boards: the DAP 5000a or DAP 5200a.

If you need spare parts for a DAP 3200a system, compatible items are available.

The DAP 3200a is an excellent choice for applications where there is a need for real-time processing of data in the time interval between samples, and for applications requiring fast sample rates.

The DAP 3200a:

  • has an Intel i486 processor onboard
  • comes with 4M of DRAM onboard memory
  • is compatible with other a-Series boards
  • works with the AT ISA bus for 286/386/486/Pentium PC platforms
  • transfers data to PC at high rates--up to 909K samples per second
  • allows fast real-time processing
  • offers low latency--0.2 ms task time quantum--for fast response
  • increases sampling period resolution to 100 ns
  • provides onboard emulation of DSP routines
  • samples or updates the digital section at up to 1.66 million values per second
  • samples analog inputs at up to 769K samples per second
  • updates analog outputs at up to 833K samples per second each
  • has expandable analog and digital inputs/outputs
  • complies with the EMC Directive 89/336/EEC

There is one DAP 3200a model: the DAP 3200a/415.

The 486 processor gives the DAP 3200a low latency--down to a 0.2 ms task time quantum. This means that when low latency mode is enabled, a single task will run for no more than 0.2 ms before DAPL switches to another task. This is crucial for process control applications where data must be responded to as quickly as possible.

The DAP3200a is compatible with other a-Series boards and may be interchanged in any hardware configuration. These configurations all use the same Channel Architecture.
